How do I hold the stick and how do I face my opponent? What is the best shooting technique? Why can't I score? Essential handbook for anyone who wants to start playing floorball.
The position of the body
Keep your legs hip-width apart and bend your knees slightly.
The center of gravity is above the toe pads.
The pelvis is slightly inclined.
The head is held high, but the ball always remains in the field of vision.
The torso is erect.
How to hold a floorball stick
Wide grip (covered driving, turning, shooting, dribbling).
Narrow grip (open conduction).
One-handed grip (open driving, fast running).
The unihockey stick must be held loosely.
Fast and precise passes
Receiving and passing the ball are two activities that are closely linked to each other.
In the ideal case, the player is positioned 90° to the direction of the pass.
The body position is quite low, the knees are bent and the weight is shifted towards the toes.
To receive well, the body accompanies the arrival of the ball and then slows it down (advice: receive trying not to make any noise).
To shoot the ball again, perform the reverse movement.
Accelerate the ball and launch it in front of your body.
Passes should hit the paddle and not the body.
The handle grip is quite wide. However, it can change depending on the type of passage. Even one-handed passes can be precise.
While making a pass, look at the camera.
Be careful not to raise the club too much after the shot (at most to hip height).
